Regional
dates
The
date for your team(s) to compete at Regional Final stage have been emailed to your teachers - if your not sure when your team are competing email f1@ics.ie Qualifying teams will go forward to the National
final on 26th April in Griffith College Dublin.
At each regional punctuality is important and set up will
start at 8am, all teams must be ready by 9am with their pit display in place. Racing and judging will commence at 9.30am.
Car Painting
Please make sure when painting your cars to seal off
the canister hole to ensure no paint enters, otherwise their car is in breach
of regulations.
Portfolio
Remember each team must produce a design folder of work
including initial ideas, design development and evidence of testing. An
orthographic projection (including a plan, side and end elevation) of their
product, a 3D rendering and assembly drawing all completed using a CAD software
package must also be submitted in your design folder. These documents should be
submitted in an A3 sized portfolio and displayed in the pit's area for the
duration of the race event. Folders should contain a maximum of 20 A3 sheets
total.
Website
For teams submitting a team website this year we will
be requesting the URL for your website in advance of the regional final. The
websites will be judged prior to the Regional final. Please have all URL’s with
F1 in Schools (f1@ics.ie) Monday 12th
March 2012. The website is an optional part of the competition.
Rules and Regulations Updated
The Rules have been updated on the website, any rule
changes have been highlighted in blue. The Marking Schemes are included in both
the D-type and Formula One type car Rules and teams should read these for each
of the specific areas of the competition carefully to understand exactly what
the judges will be looking for.

haven’t contacted f1@ics.ie for their counties media contacts, please get them to
do so now.
Teams should also think now of putting together their
press release on car manufacture (press release #3 and #4 from the
Marketing Guide).
At the Regional final each team should:
- Bring your own laptop, if your team requires one on your stand
- Save your verbal presentation onto a memory stick
- Each team is provided with a display board (exact size will be confirmed next week).
- Each team will be provided with access to one power source, if your display will need more, please bring your own extension leads.
- Register all team members names online at www.F1inSchools.ie Teacher or Team Manager forgot login details? email f1@ics.ie
- Create a list of any press coverage or any radio interviews and if you can have a copy of the radio interview.
