Regionals in University of Limerick
Well, our first regional final is now over and the winners and qualifiers are below. We had loads of judges viewing the various aspects of the competition yesterday and the resounding feedback was that teams had done fantastic work and in the end the points were very close between the teams.

Regional events
- Timing Punctuality is important and set up will start at 8am, all teams must be ready by 9am with display in place. Small allowances may be made for teams travelling a long distance, on an individual basis. Racing and judging will commence at 9.30am.
- Designs Remember, part files for axels and wheels have been put up on our website www.f1inschools.ie/public/resources.html in the Resources page. You can download these and incorporate them into your car design.
- Portfolio Each team must produce a design folder of work including initial ideas, design development and evidence of testing. An orthographic projection (including a plan, side and end elevation) of their product, a 3D rendering and assembly drawing all completed using a CAD software package must also be submitted in your design folder. All these documents should be submitted in an A3 sized portfolio and displayed in the pit's area for the duration of the race event. Folders should contain a maximum of 20 A3 sheets total.
- Website For teams submitting a team website this year we will be requesting the URL for your website in advance of the regional final. The websites will be judged prior to the regional final. The website is an optional part of the competition. However in order to score in the ‘High’ category in the Use of CAD and ICT a team must have a project website (see Rules and Regs, Marking Criteria).
- Each team should:
- Save their presentation onto a memory stick, however a laptop with CD/DVD drive will be available in the Verbal Presentations room for teams.
- Each team is provided with a display board 6ft high by 4ft wide and a 6ft trestle table with white tablecloth. Please bring Velcro/tacks to affix any posters you may have to the boards.
- Each team will be provided with access to one power source, if your display will need more, please bring your own extension leads.
- Bring your own laptop, if your team requires one on your stand, as we will be unable to provide laptops on the day.
- Register all team members names online at http://www.f1inschools.ie/
- Create a list of any press coverage or any radio interviews and if you can have a copy of the radio interview.
